Grayson County High School provides each student with the academic knowledge and technical competency necessary to succeed in a diverse and progressive world.
Student safety is always a top priority for Grayson County Schools and Grayson County High School. In order to enhance our school security at GCHS, we are pleased to announce that we ahve a new Point of Entry System.
All exterior doors at GCHS will remain closed and locked during the school day. To gain entrance to the building, all visitors must be "buzzed in" through the front doors by our office staff. Below you will find procedures for entry and visitor expectations.
Beginning Monday, January 13, 2014, ALL GCHS visitors will have to:
1. Enter through the front doors.
2. Push the round button (doorbell) above the keypad mounted to the right of the front doors. You will hear a door bell.
3. When someone responds, face the reddish oval above the key pad and state your full name and reason for your visit.
4. Someone in the office will release the left hand door for you to open. Proceed directly to the office for a visitors pass.
5. Please do not allow others to enter behind you. If someone does enter behind you and they do not proceed directly to the office, please let the office staff member know immediately.

We are excited to announce that PowerSchool, our student information system, now allows secure access to parents through the Parent Portal. Parent Portal allows parents to view their child's grades, assignments, attendance, announcements, and teacher comments. In order to access your child's information, your must have Access ID and Password credentials. To maintain the security of your child's educational information, we will not distribute these credentials by phone or email. Parents and guardians can receive these credentials by coming to the school or by having them mailed to their address of record once an Acceptable Use Policy Agreement has been signed. The Acceptable Use Policy Agreement can also be found on the Grayson County Public Schools website.
GCHS/CATE will provide these access ID's to parents January 13-17, 2014 between the hours of 2:00pm - 5:00pm. Parents and/or guardians must have proper identification and can stop by the Guidance Department during the above listed times to pick up an Acceptable Use Agreement and Access ID for Parent Portal.
GCHS/CATE will provide access to computer labs for parents to come in and learn about Parent Portal once the next Parent/Teacher conference date has been determined.
